What Kalinga Means to Us

We chose the name Kalinga because it carries a spirit of care and service deeply rooted in the Philippines, where our Advocates are based. It's a noun, but an active one. English requires several words to describe what Kalinga holds. In a Filipino household, the word carries a sense of duty — an obligation to person-to-person care with compassion and attentiveness. Filipinos have a companion word: malasakit, care, in which the provider invests themselves in the relationship. This cultural investment in the care of others is part of why the Philippines is the world's largest exporter of trained nurses. You may have met one or two.

Lee Frankl Founder, PHSource LLC

YourKalinga is operated by PHSource LLC, a Florida company founded by Lee Frankl in 2025. Marrying into a Filipino family four years ago has been a cultural awakening for Lee, and a lesson in Kalinga ever since. That lesson has deepened over three extended visits to the Philippines. It's been his dream to build a business that bridges the Philippines and the USA, since his heart is now in both.

Lee brings 30 years of experience with companies and nonprofits, the last twenty managing teams in sales, marketing, and operations. Of all of them, YourKalinga is the most engaging because it's an opportunity to build something that meets a highly identifiable need with a unique, cost-effective solution. A native of New England, Lee now lives with his balikbayan (Filipino transplant) husband, Dan Anthony, in Fort Lauderdale.
